Waking Up

This is a quick and rather dull entry. More of a personal update and likely isn’t interesting reading for anyone beyond my immediate friends and family. I promise I’ll get to work on more thought-provoking topics soon 🙂

However, back to the boring stuff: Over the last couple of weeks I feel like I’ve been waking up. Looking back, it appears that MS started to affect me all the way back in 2011, long before my official diagnosis. Things that I haven’t been able to do for years, I’m suddenly able to do:

  • Print copies of photos
  • Work on my rag quilt
  • Plan things like birthday parties, Christmas, baking…

Why? How can life be so different now than it was just a couple of weeks ago? Could it be any or a combination of these things?

  • Staying on my meds
  • Getting more sleep
  • Meditating every day (sometimes a couple of times a day)
  • Working through the 7 A’s of Healing from Gabor Maté’s book “When the Body Says No”
  • Standing instead of sitting

Does this mean I’m healing a little? I’d love to be able to count on being able to continue functioning well.
